Industrial Batch Oven
Airflow is a modern technically advanced company with nearly three decades of experience in the design, manufacture and supply of Batch Ovens. Airflow uses the latest CAD and CAM technology during both the design and manufacturing processes. A sophisticated integrated computer network enables the management of work from the order stage through to installation and after sale care. Airflow employs a dedicated team of field and internal sales personnel with many years of combined experience in the selling of Batch Ovens.
By specifying Airflow be assured you will be choosing the best product, backed by the UK's leading manufacturer of Batch Ovens. We recognise that our commitment to innovation has been paramount to our growth and success. The solution to your problem is not to choose an inferior Batch Oven from one of our competitors in order to reduce initial price, risking costly unreliability when the correct solution is to buy from Airflow hence optimising performance in terms of reliability and long-term production costs.

Batch Ovens are during many processes including the drying, curing and heat treatment of a variety of products. The market place encompasses many sectors including the Aerospace, Automotive, Contract Coating, Engineering, Fabrication, Furniture, Marine, Plant Manufacture, Plastics and Structural Steel industries. Airflow's Batch Oven customer base includes companies such as Alcan, BAE Systems, Barrier, Bredero Shaw, BSN Medical, Department of Defence, Dyson Thermal Technologies, Prestige Medical and Rolls-Royce. Airflow ATEX rated Batch Ovens are available when dealing with hazardous process.
Airflow also specialise in the design and manufacture of composite curing batch ovens were the final assemblies of critical elements used in the aerospace and performance automotive industries are encapsulated in a plastic sheath then placed in an oven. The Batch Oven has an internal vacuum system which shrinks the sheath exactly onto the substrate then cures the composite.
Airflow Batch Ovens are manufactured to the highest modern standards using CNC machinery to provide a perfectly engineered solution to today's demanding thermal processes. Each Oven features a structural steel framework which supports its thermally efficient insulated panels for economic running, four sided galvanized internal ductwork and roof-mounted heater box. The framework allows expansion and contraction without stressing the Batch Oven panels.
Four sturdy lifting points are provided on Airflow Batch Ovens facilitating the moving of the oven as a complete unit. The heater box can be dismounted from the Batch Oven if required to gain access to restricted headroom sites. The doors of the ovens are a close fit when both hot and cold and have an internal release handle and sprung stainless seals giving a good seal with a long life.
All Airflow Batch Ovens have full roof-mounted explosion relief in compliance with HSG16 and they are supplied pre-wired and fully tested prior to dispatch carrying current test certificates and having the CE Mark affixed. Airflow batch ovens comply with the Machinery Directive (89/392/EEC) and risk assessments have been conducted.
Rapid installation of Airflow Batch Ovens is possible with minimum disturbance to production. During commissioning by an Airflow engineer the ovens are temperature mapped and data logged by laptop computer.
A choice of fuels is available including Natural Gas, LPG, Electricity, Indirect Gas or Oil, Steam and Low Pressure Hot Water. Natural Gas-Fired and LPG Fired Batch Ovens have a modern fuel-efficient packaged gas burner for low running costs and reduced breakdowns. Electrically Heated Batch Ovens are designed as the gas fired ovens however they have an incoloy electrical element bank within the roof mounted heater box. Solid State Relays are used on all electric ovens and they have full compliance with the European directives relating to electromagnetic compatibility (89/336/EEC) and electrical equipment designed for use within certain voltage limits (73/23/EEC).
All Airflow Batch Ovens have powerful twin high-temperature centrifugal fans for balanced double sided air delivery. A high air recirculation rating of typically six air changes per minute provides unrivalled temperature uniformity with elimination of hot and cold spots within the oven. For Batch Ovens requiring very tight temperature tolerances air changes in excess of ten per minute can be achieved. First stage volume control and multiple second stage air distribution dampers enable high volume low pressure air delivery which is ideal for powder coated or delicate components. No competitor's Batch Oven has airflow like an Airflow Batch Oven.
An integral mechanically and electrically interlocked powerful independent exhaust fan is standard to Airflow Batch Ovens with a resulting negative pressure ensuring that no fumes escape into the factory environment. The exhaust fan ventilates the Airflow Batch Oven both before and during its stoving period with a pre-purge timer purging the oven prior to heat engagement. An air flow switch provides a direct interlock between the exhaust draught and the heat source.
A simple to operate mounted electrical control cabinet is incorporated containing a P.I.D. temperature controller which learns the oven's characteristics to predict and cancel out temperature variations.
Airflow Batch Ovens are finished with a durable and attractive painted exterior provided by a zinc phosphate primer and high gloss enamel top coat in either Airflow Blue or the customer's choice of colour which looks great now and will look great in ten years.
Airflow 225°C Batch Ovens are constructed generally with a 2mm mild steel outer skin and a 1.2mm galvanised inner lining. These panels are sandwiching with 80mm high density insulation to provide low running costs and a cool exterior.
325°C versions of Airflow Batch Ovens have 100mm high density stabilised mineral wool insulation and have thermal breaks with an aludip lining and alu-dip internal ducting. External and internal surfaces of Airflow Batch Ovens can be manufactured from stainless steel should this be the customer's preference.
